Poems to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Thirty-fourth Poem
Mary, Light of God
that descends to the Earth,
State of Grace and
of perpetual Mercy.
I ask of you, on this day,
may my soul and my heart
be able to live the inner consecration
so that Your Son may find
a space within my soul
where He can govern and work.
Thus, Most Holy Virgin,
I offer my life as
a path for consecration.
Stripped of my ideas and concepts,
take me to the void of everything so that,
in this practice of constant renunciation,
I may be able to be deserving
of all the possible Mercy,
able to redeem and sanctify my life.
Dear Celestial Mother,
may daily prayer
give me the impulse toward transformation,
toward an absolute living of
service to the fellow being
and to the Kingdoms of Nature.
May my human heart
become sensitive to be able to feel
the need of those who cry out for help.
I hope to someday
respond to Christ
as a beginner disciple
that learns to know
service and love everywhere.
Make of my soul, my Lady,
a missionary soul.
